Not a problem as the pipe from the vac pump has a y piece fitted. 1 branch goes to the brake servo and the other to the solenoid, which has now been block ed, so no loss in vacuum to the servo. Problem 2, The actual EGR valve is situated at the back of the engine with a bulkhead behind on the 2.0 HDI so not very easy to get at if you have big
Many of us middle-aged ol’ timers remember the mid-70’s Chevy trucks with their big block engines, and the engine heat seizing the starter motor. The fix? Tapping out a couple of shims from the aluminum cans of an adult malty beverage, and though I cannot recommend the foamy contents myself, the brewer in Colorado produces the best shims.
Re: Re-torquing 1.6 Hdi injector bolts. Just a quick follow up to the above. Take a look at this picture of one of the studs that hold the injector in place: As you can see, the longer part which screws into the head uses an M6 thread. However, the bit that takes the nut which secures the injector has an M7 thread.
I have a problem with the car. 1.6 hdi (9HR) engine refused to obey. The engine spins, however, does not start. It fires on the cake, but does not draw oil from the rail, as it is returned to the drain at some point. At the beginning, I changed the fuel filter to a new original one, I checked the hoses that are tight.
